Need help with research, technology, or finding the right resources? The Auburn Public Library is here to support you with in-person, one-on-one assistance tailored to your needs.

The Ask A Librarian service invites community members (18+) to book a 45-minute appointment with our Reference Librarian. From working on a specific project to exploring library technologies, we’re here to help you make the most of what the library offers.

What we can help with:

  • Research questions
  • Learning basic computer skills and online tools
  • Navigating the library catalog and collections
  • Using library technology, equipment, and apps
  • eBooks, Audiobooks, and Digital Services
  • Genealogy and local history research
  • Building a resume, searching for job opportunities, and preparing for upcoming interviews
  • Finding resources for education, career, and personal interests

What we cannot help with:

  • Providing legal, medical, or tax services/advice
  • Conducting ongoing research on your behalf
  • Troubleshooting or repairing personal devices beyond basic library services
  • Handling financial or business transactions
  • Completing job applications on your behalf

How it works:

  1. Complete the form below by clicking on “Request an appointment”.
  2. Our Reference Librarian will follow up within two business days to confirm your appointment options and/or clarify any request details.
  3. Once confirmed, meet in person at the Library for your scheduled session.
