Computers for Adults

Computers in the main area of the library can be used for 60-minute sessions on a first-come first-served basis. If all computers are in use, patrons may request to reserve the next available computer at the Circulation Desk.

Patrons log in to computers using any CW MARS library card. Patrons without a card may request a guest pass at the Circulation Desk.

Computers have basic software such as Microsoft Office and Adobe Reader, web browsers such as Chrome and Firefox, USB ports for flash drives, and headphone jacks. Patrons may not install additional software or hardware, or alter computer settings.

Computers send a warning message 5 minutes before a session ends. If patrons require additional time, they may request it at the Circulation Desk, as long as there are no other patrons waiting for sessions.

At the end of each session, library computers clear data and saved documents for patrons’ privacy and protection. All data is permanently deleted and is not recoverable by any method. Patrons should print or save work to a personal flash drive or remote storage before the end of their session.

Library staff are not responsible for filtering or monitoring a child’s use of a computer.
